Lifeguard

How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:

As a Y Lifeguard, you will be responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and operation of the Y swimming pool during operating hours. You will be supported in your work as a part of the leading mission-driven organization for strengthening community, and the area’s largest provider of swim lessons. The Y Lifeguard works to safeguard the health and safety of Y members, participants, and guests. You’ll contribute to the Y and to the community by enhancing the well-being and safety of all.

This work is right for you if you have:

  • A love of swimming
  • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
  • The ability to pass a swim test
  • A willingness to obtain the Y Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid certifications, if you do not currently have them
  • Reached 16 years of age

Childwatch Attendent

As a Y Childwatch Attendant you will be responsible for the safety, active engagement and well-being of children attending Stay & Play in Y family centers while their parents or guardians are in our centers. You’ll provide a safe, engaging, fun, and nurturing environment which fosters the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child in your care. As a Y Stay & Play Attendant you’ll contribute to the Y and the broader community we serve by supporting the healthy development of children and giving peace of mind for their parents/guardians while their children are in your care.

  • An enthusiastic love for children of all ages, patience, good judgment and a good spirit
  • Reached 16 years of age

Fit Coach

How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:

As a Y Fitness Coach, you’ll be an important part of a mission-driven, charitable organization that helps children, adults, families, and communities achieve more in all aspects of life. The Y Fitness Coach circulates throughout the wellness center and provides supervision and instruction to Y members by listening actively, strengthening relationships, and promoting healthy living. You will also be responsible for assisting in membership development and retention through quality leadership and continuous follow through with Y member engagement. As a Y Fitness Coach, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by creating experiences that help people feel a greater sense of health and well-being, purpose, acceptance and belonging.

This work is right for you if you have:

  • A love of fitness and people
  • A desire to help & encourage others to have fun with fitness
  • A nationally recognized accredited exercise certification (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NETA preferred)
  • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates

Personal Trainer

How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:

As a Y Personal Trainer, you’ll be an important part of a mission-driven, charitable organization that helps children, adults, families, and communities achieve more in all aspects of life. The Y Personal Trainer provides one-on-one fitness instruction to clients during each session and assesses each individual’s progress and makes appropriate changes. You will also be responsible for promoting personal training with Y members. As a Y Personal Trainer, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by creating experiences that help people feel a greater sense of health and well-being, purpose, acceptance and belonging.

This work is right for you if you have:

  • A love of fitness and people
  • A desire to help & encourage others to have fun with fitness
  • A degree in the exercise science field or NCCA accredited Personal Training certification programs
  • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates

Membership Associate

How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:

As a Y Member Services Representative, you’ll be the welcoming face of a mission-driven, charitable organization that helps children, adults, families, and communities live healthier, more connected, engaged and positive lives. Y Membership Associates are a primary and important point of contact for all members, participants and guests who walk through our doors or connect with us in any way. You will see and interact with community members on a regular basis and get to know those you serve. You will represent the Y brand and mission through your demeanor, actions, responsiveness and friendly ways. As a Y Membership Associate, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the larger community we serve by enhancing the Y member experience, making the Y an enjoyable and meaningful part of their lives.

This work is right for you if you have:

  • A love of people with the ability to relate to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Enthusiasm, patience, good humor, good judgment and a can-do spirit
  • An ability and desire to solve problems, answer questions thoroughly and get the answer when you don’t know
  • A love for helping others demonstrated through previous customer service or sales experience
  • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
  • A willingness to be flexible with your work schedule to meet the needs of the Y community
  • Reached the age of 18

Group Exercise Instructor

How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:

As a Y Group Exercise Instructor, you’ll be an important part of a mission-driven, charitable organization that helps children, adults, families, and communities achieve more in all aspects of life. The Group Exercise Instructor provides quality instruction and supervision to Y members and participants by teaching safe and functionally challenging classes that promote total fitness development and support a greater sense of well-being. You’ll help more people stay active and connected to positive community life by providing a fun, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that promotes group interaction, exercise and a sense of belonging. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the broader community we serve by creating experiences that help people feel a greater sense of health and well-being, purpose, acceptance and belonging.

This work is right for you if you have:

  • A love of fitness and people
  • A desire to help & encourage others to have fun with fitness
  • A nationally recognized accredited group exercise certification required (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, NETA preferred) or standalone or specialty certification (Les Mills, Zumba, etc.)
  • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates

After-school Aide

How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:

As a Y After School Aide, you will participate in facilitating activities for school-aged children that foster overall character building. You will assist in keeping the health and welfare of all children in mind at all times. As an Aide, you’ll contribute to the Y movement by providing enrichment activities to youth and peace of mind to their parents and guardians by knowing their children are safe while they are at work.

This work is right for you if you have:

  • An interest in the well-being of school age children, enthusiasm, patience, good humor, good judgment and a good spirit
  • The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, school administration and other Y associates
  • The ability to be flexible and work at multiple locations (optional)
  • Reached the age of 17
