GROUP EXERCISE

AQUATICS

AQUA BASICS

Easy on your joints, this class can help you maintain strength, improve balance, and extend your time for living independently. Other benefits include alleviating pain associated with arthritis, fibromyalgia, leg and back problems, and for those who have had joint replacements.

DEEP WATER AEROBICS - Total Body Workout

Deep water workouts are more challenging than shallow water as the body’s center of balance is at the chest level. Each person must wear a belt to anchor the core and maintain good balance while working against the water’s buoyancy. This workout will require core strength to hold proper body alignment while working against the properties of water. Deep water workouts are impact free and do not require water shoes.

WATER WALK - Basic Low Impact

Moving through the water with a variety of walking patterns and progression will provide additional core, posture, balance, and mobility benefits. This class is great for all fitness levels including pre and post hip and knee replacements. You will benefit as it provides a total body workout while strengthening the muscles around the joint while providing minimal impact. Water shoes are required.

WATER WORKS

You will enjoy this shallow water, medium intensity exercise class which uses water and foam dumbbells for resistance training. Get stronger, improve flexibility, and gain confidence!

BOXING

BOXING BASICS

Want to get fit, fight for it. Learn the fundamentals of boxing including footwork, shadow boxing, drills and heavy bag work. Class is open to all levels. Gloves and wraps required. Purchase at the front desk.

CYCLING

BEGINNER CYCLING & STRETCH

This non-intimidating class will help you slowly build strength and stamina. Afterwards, enjoy 15 minutes of deep stretching. (Located in the Cycling studio and limited to 6 participants for social distancing.)

CYCLE + LIFT

This one-hour class is for intermediate and advanced exercisers. This is a fusion of short cycling intervals and strength training on the floor. Varied intensity cardiovascular training and strength training combines using a variety of functional and foundational strength moves to give you a challenging workout hitting all muscle groups.

CYCLE 60 + MZ

60 minute intermediate to advanced cycling class using MyZone HR training.

CYCLE + MZ

Take your cardiovascular fitness to the next level using our MyZone Heart Rate training technology.  Bring your belt or purchase one at the YMCA.  Our instructors will coach and guide you through understanding your Zones and how to effectively train to increase endurance, strength and stamina on the bike.  This is an intermediate to advanced session.  MyZone belt required.  Loaners are available for your first class.

CYCLING

Love to ride to great music and follow the beat? This class is for you. Classic cycling techniques like hills and sprints merge with pumping music to give you 45 minutes of sweaty excitement.

CYCLING FOR SENIORS & BEGINNERS

New to cycling?  No idea how to set up your bike?  Ease into your cycling journey with great music, motivating instructors and begin to build your cycling base.

Fitness games and fun challenges to encourage younger children to stay active. A perfect fit for Kid Members 6 to 10 years old.

TEEN STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

This fitness class is for ages 11-15 and is designed to make fitness fun! It is based for all levels and instructs participants on proper form to create healthy habits for a lifetime!

CIRCUIT & WEIGHT

BARBELL PUMP

Get lean, get toned, get strong! Work every muscle with medium to heavy weights and lots of reps. Barbell Pump is taught in place of BODYPUMP when a sub is needed.

BODYPUMP

BODYPUMP ™ is THE ORIGINAL BARBELL CLASS ™, the ideal workout for anyone looking to get strong and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout.

FUNCTIONAL FITNESS

Circuit intervals for strength and cardio conditioning.  This ever-changing format will keep you on your toes through incorporating equipment specific to Queenax and traditional cardio exercises. Give it a try!

CARDIO

BODYCOMBAT

BODYCOMBAT ™ is a high-energy, no contact, martial arts-inspired workout that will have you sweating and burning 500 calories or more! Modifications are given for those who are more comfortable working at a lower level. Show up and be ready to kick and punch your way to fitness.

CARDIO + CORE

Low to high impact cardio to increase cardio endurance and burn calories, plus, standing and floor abdominal exercises for toning core muscle groups. 

FOREVER FIT

A lower level cardio and strength class for older adults. Expect, fun standing low-impact moves for heart and lung conditioning and light resistance training to keep muscles strong and improve bone density. A chair may be used to help with balance and when performing some strength training exercises. 

KICKBOXING

Kick up your cardio conditioning in this high-energy, low-impact class that incorporates martial arts inspired movements into combos that are bound to get your heart rate up.

STEP

Time flies when you’re having fun!  A classic cardio workout, this 45 minute intermediate to advanced class includes choreographed routines set to motivating music.  Benefits received are toned legs and glutes, improved heart and lung function, endurance, mood, and possible weight loss. 

STEP EXPRESS

30 minutes of basic to intermediate moves and routines designed to make you sweat and raise your heart rate. New to Step? Be sure to attend this class and you’ll soon be ready to participate in all of our Step classes.

YOGA

CHAIR YOGA

Chair yoga is perfect for anyone looking for a low-impact flow. This 45-minute class includes deep stretches and breathing as well as traditional yoga movements.

DEEP STRETCH YOGA

Foundational yoga postures are practiced to align, strengthen, and promote flexibility. Breathing techniques and meditation serve to eliminate stress and improve overall health.

POWER YOGA

The power sequence is a series of classic yoga postures combined with powerful movements that flow from one to the next creating warmth and strength within your muscles.

SLOW FLOW YOGA

Soothe your mind and body while combining meditation with synchronized breathing and flowing postures at a slower pace.

BALANCE & STRENGTH

ABSolute rockBOTTOM

Improve strength and change your physique! Abdominal and glute exercises will sculpt abs and tone your glutes through planks, crunches, squats, lunges, and a little cardio to burn fat.

BARRE

A workout inspired by elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. Expect to perform challenging leg exercises as well as build core and upper body toning for a full-body workout. Tools are used to create resistance and build muscular endurance.

BALANCE AND MOBILITY

A Stability Ball and a chair will aid you in working towards improving balance, mobility, range of movement, and to strengthen and stretch muscles.

PILATES

Pilates is a mat workout that aims to strengthen core muscles and improve postural alignment. Other moves are incorporated in order to generate long, lean muscles and improve flexibility.

TAI CHI - ADVANCED/INTERMEDIATE and TAI CHI - BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE

Described as “Meditation in Motion”, Tai Chi is a practice that promotes serenity and stress release through gentle, flowing movements. 

We offer classes for those who are more familiar with the practice and have achieved an intermediate to advanced level and another for beginners and those with less experience.

TOTAL BODY STRENGTH

Weight training is essential for creating strong muscles and increasing bone density. Create muscular balance by working every muscle group through the use of various resistance tools.

TRX BEGINNERS & SENIORS

TRX is a suspension training device that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, agility, balance, and coordination. 

TRX FUSION

Participants will perform TRX suspension strength training combined with cardio intervals that include familiar cardio exercises as well as basic kickboxing and plyometric movements.

TRX SUSPENSION TRAINING

TRX is a form of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability. The TRX Suspension Trainer is a tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete the exercises.

STRENGTH & CARDIO

CYCLE & LIFT

Combines functional training and cycling for a unique HIIT class.  Members will be on and off the bike combining cardiovascular with strength, mobility and functional movement exercises.

DUMBBELLS & DRUMSTICKS

15 minutes of weight training followed by 30 minutes of exhilarating cardio conditioning through choreographed drumming routines.

HIIT (HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING)

HIIT stands for high intensity interval training and that is exactly what you will get in this class. Using a variety of equipment and modalities you will get your heart rate up in various circuits. You’ll be working so hard the time will fly by!

KICKBOXING INTERVALS

Cardio kickboxing with periodic bouts of punches and jabs using light hand weights to build endurance and tone muscles.

DANCE

DANCE FIT

A fun method to raise your heart rate and burn calories. This class will have you moving to different genres of music and various types of dance moves. (This class will be listed on our schedule in place of SH’BAM when a sub is needed.)

SH'BAM

Fun! Effective! Addictive! Simple, sassy dance moves will shape you up and bring out your inner star. Great for all ages and levels of fiitness.

ZUMBA

Ditch the workout and join the party! This 45-minute dance-based class incorporates movements from world rhythms and is bound to make you shake away your stress.

ZUMBA GOLD

Zumba Gold takes the popular Latin-dance inspired workout of Zumba and makes it accessible for seniors, beginners or others needing modifications in their exercise routine. Get your heart rate up with easy to follow dance moves and have a blast!

ZUMBA INTERMEDIATE

Need a step up from Zumba Gold but not quite ready for Zumba? Zumba Intermediate is a happy medium and is appropriate for all levels. Get into the groove and just move.
