Cancer survivorship is a journey of resilience, and the Foothills Area YMCA’s LIVESTRONG® at the Y program helps survivors regain strength, confidence, and well-being.
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a free, 12-week small-group fitness program designed to support adult cancer survivors on their journey to reclaiming health and well-being. Led by specially trained YMCA instructors, participants receive personalized guidance in a supportive and welcoming environment.
The program meets twice a week for 90-minute sessions, focusing on improving cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and balance. Survivors connect with others who understand their experience, building strength both physically and emotionally—together.

More than that, my mental outlook was also improved, new friendships were developed, and I had the confidence to canoe/kayak on longer day trips.

I loved working out together as a group and just encouraging one another. Laughing, talking and working hard together.

My spiritual health was an unexpected positive also! I have joined and I am continuing my excercise. It is a part of my life now and I’m so thankful for it.
Lou
I’ve noticed big changes—more confidence, stronger muscles, and even improvements in walking and climbing stairs.
