What is Small Group Training (SGT)?

SGT is limited to no more than 8 people with 1 Coach. SGT is designed to provide more individualized instruction for each member. Your Coach will customize the workouts based on your fitness level, exercise experience and goals.  Programs may include an assessment. They are crafted to help you progress safely toward your fitness goals. You will also learn proper form in order to build strength & endurance and increase mobility and flexibility safely. You can expect to receive more individualized attention while experiencing motivating & inspiring support from your group and coach.

Registration: Registration for Training sessions are limited to Foothills Area YMCA members.

Intermediate Boxing is for those who have the foundation of punching and footwork down and ready to explore more. In this small group we will move beyond the basics  learning more complex combos, how to throw knees, and how to hold and punch focus mitts with a partner. To join this group you will need to have the basics down by either having taken boxing basics or have boxed previously.

Small Group Training

8-week program beginning Sep 26th, 2022

Session: Tues/Thurs @6:40pm Core Evolution

No matter what activities/exercises you enjoy, your core is always an essential component of movement. Whether your goal is better balance, increased strength, or improved athletic performance, a weak core will always be a limiting factor. This training program will measure and train your rotational stability, core strength and core endurance to help you improve your overall fitness capabilities.

This 30-minute core class will work your abs, obliques, glutes and back. Some movements will include planks, crunch variations, hip lifts, back extensions and more. All moves can be modified and progressed to fit your capabilities. This program will start with the basics and build up to a level of exercises that is challenging and effective for you!

Functional Fitness is exercise that grows and supports your everyday life. In a small group setting we will work on movements that equate to things we do everyday. While putting a focus on core and form as both are the foundation of proper movement. We will use weights, TRX, body weight, and cardio moves to achieve these goals.

Senior FUNctional is an 8 week class designed for age 60+ focusing on developing and maintaining an independent life style. This program will include full body strength, functional movements that minic activities of daily living, and balance. This class can be as low intensity or high intensity as you prefer and every movement can be modified for progession. Join me to start investing in your independence in the years to come!

Session: Mon/Wed @8:00am Ultimate Strength with Kaylee

Ultimate Strength is a full body, boot camp style workout with a focus in learning how to properly perform movements with dumbbells. This circuit workout will consist of several different fun and challenging stations, including dumbbells, cardio, core, and bodyweight exercises. Each station will have 3-4 different exercises, and stations will last anywhere from 4-7 minutes long. We will build strength and endurance, and learn the proper technique of each exercise. This workout will keep your heart rate high while burning calories and gaining strength!

Session: Tue/Thu 10:00 am Women on Weights with Kinley

A full body workout with a combination of super sets and single exercises with a focus on improving strength and understanding the importance of nutrition for achieving goals.

Although the full body will be worked, a muscle group will be the focal point of each workout. We will address special needs and discuss and plan against individual goals.
