After School Care
In YMCA After School Care, kids engage in physical, learning and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. In addition to supplementing what they have learned in school, they participate in interactive learning models that engage critical thinking skills, are provided 30 minutes each day to work on their homework by trained YMCA staff, have a chance to socialize with each other and form long-lasting friendships that enhance their development, growth and self-confidence.
- One time non-refundable registration fee: $45. (No registration fee if you register before June 17, 2022)
- $45/week for Members of the Foothills Area YMCA
- $55/week for Non-Members
Payment for each week is due the Friday prior to the start of each session. A late payment fee of $10 will apply. All payments must be scheduled to auto-draft.
Financial assistance is available (sibling discount is not applicable for those on financial assistance)
If you work for the school district and have an SDOC badge, you can receive $20.00 off! All you need to do to receive this discount is email a photo of your 2022-2023 school ID to [email protected]
We strive to keep our weekly tuition rates affordable for all families. Therefore, all weeks are at your regular weekly rate regardless of days served in the program for that week.
2:30 pm – 5:30 pm: The afternoons consist of snack time, reading time, allotted time for homework, arts and crafts projects, outdoor and indoor games, clubs, and more.
Fridays are Fun Fridays at YMCA After School Care! Students will be able to participate in fun planned events that have been organized by the after school care staff.
This year we are continuing with our American Dream literacy program as well as the continuation of programs with Ripple of One and Snap-Ed of Clemson University. Each year, we compare our rates to other After School programs in the area to make sure we are one of the most affordable programs. However, due to price increases for materials, staffing, and other expenses, you will see that our prices have changed from last year. As always, financial assistance is available for those in need! You can find an application on our website. We are excited to see what the future holds for our After School Care programs and we certainly want you to join us!
If you are registering a child who has a disability or medical needs, please make sure to call or email the Childcare Director to set up a meeting prior to their first day of the program. The purpose of this meeting is to obtain detailed information about the child’s condition and the best way to meet the child’s needs, while including them in program activities.
