The Blue 1 Team is the ultimate and final step in our Bluefins Swim Team. These swimmers are our most serious athletes, with swimmers qualifying for Y regional, USA State, USA Sectional, Y National meets, and beyond. Swimmers are expected to compete at the highest level championship meet they qualify for and are encouraged to swim as part of our USA team.

Minimum Requirements: Swimmers must be able to compete in:
8×100 Freestyle in under 1:30, 1×100 Backstroke in under 1:30, and a 200 IM in under 2:40

The pen-ultimate step in our Swim Team, this team has a heavier emphasis on competition as a vehicle for personal growth. Swimmers are expected to attend practice and meets regularly. Swimmers will continue to build upon concepts previously learned while working through a year long season plan. Dryland is also introduced in this group and is encouraged as a way to complement the work done in the pool.

Minimum Requirements: Must be able to swim 100 Freestyle in 1:20 or faster, 100 Backstroke in 1:40 or faster, and 200 IM in 3:00 or faster. Legal starts and turns are required.

Swimmers will be introduced to goal setting, visualization principles and foundations as well as learning how to read a workout sheet and how to utilize this in practice. Endurance and stroke technique will be the main focus of this group in tandem with team building.

Minimum Requirements: Must be able to compete a 100 Freestyle in under 1:45 and 100 Backstroke in under 2:15. must also be able to legally swim a 50 Breaststroke and 50
Butterfly. Legal starts and turns are preferred but not required.

Silver Team continues the progression of swimmers in our Bluefins Swim Team Program. Swimmers will continue their education in the 4 competitive strokes, while fine tuning starts and turns. Swimmers will also focus more on endurance2023 building and lane etiquette, while learning the basics of reading a pace clock. USA Swimming may also be introduced for swimmers exceeding expectations for this group.

Minimum Requirements:
Swimmers must be able to complete a 100 (or strong 25) yard freestyle.
Swimmers must also be able to complete a 100 of Freestyle and Backstroke 50 of Butterfly and Breaststroke with close form. Some knowledge of starts and turns preferred.

Each Free 30 minute session will consist of a quick overview of our summer league program, a 10 minute in water evaluation, and a Q&A with coaches.

Our entry level group. This team aims to teach swimmers the four strokes and build
endurance in a fun and exciting environment.

Minimum requirements:
Swimmers must be able to complete a 25 yard freestyle.

For swimmers who are ready to experience the next level of competition, USA Swimming will introduce swimmers into a more competitive swim environment.

Weekend meets to different, exciting pools against some of the best swimmers in the state will all be a part of the USA Swimming experience!

Note: USA registered swimmers must also be members of The Foothills Area YMCA Swim Team. Swimmers will practice at the same time as their FAYMCA practice group (Blue 1, Blue 2, Silver, etc.)

White Team is the next step in the progression of our Bluefins Swim Team. The main goal of this team is to continue learning about the exciting world of swimming while also progressing in their knowledge and love of the sport. Swimmers will continue to learn the 4 competitive strokes, while learning the basics of starts and turns. White Team swimmers will continue to learn racing skills and to build endurance while also learning good sportsmanship and practice etiquette. Swim Meets and regular practice attendance are encouraged.

Swimmers must be able to complete a 50 (or strong 25) yard freestyle.
Swimmers must also be able to complete a 50 (or strong 25) yard backstroke.
25 of fly or breaststroke is preferred but not required.
