Every Gift Matters.
Thank you for considering a gift to support our mission of Youth Development, Healthy Living & Social Responsibility in our communities.
When you make a one-time or recurring gift, use employer matching to increase your impact, give stocks or bonds, remember the Y in your will, support the Y’s endowment, become a corporate or foundation partner, or find a unique way to give, you’re changing the lives in our community today and for years to come.
The Foothills Area YMCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax-exempt.
Here are some ways to give:
Annual Giving
Each year, through our Annual Campaign, 100% of your donation directly supports financial assistance and program subsidies for your friends & neighbors.
When you donate to the Annual Campaign, you are donating through the Y and directly to members of our community, making it possible for children, families and adults to have access to Y programs that improve their lives.
The Annual Campaign funds help:
- RAISES awareness and funds for the Y’s financial assistance program, assuring that no one is turned away from Y programs and services due only to the inability to pay.
- ENABLES the participation of hundreds of children and families in Y membership, programs, wellness initiatives, services and camps.
- HELPS to provide lifelong experiences for children, adults and families through Y after school care, summer day camp, aquatics, sports, wellness and many other vital programs and services.
- BROADENS our reach into initiating enriching community wellness and health-enhancing programs such as our cancer survivorship program LIVESTRONG®at the YMCA, Rock Steady Boxing and Pedaling for Parkinson’s programs for Parkinson’s patients, Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program, Diabetes Prevention Program, and Exercise is Medicine program for adults with chronic health conditions.

Digital Banner Recognition
The Digital Banner Recognition Program benefits our Annual Scholarship Fund and serves as a visual reminder of the contributions that make a difference in our community.
Your support translates to life-changing programs for those in our community who need it most. From preschool to wellness for older adults, no other organization can impact as many, as powerfully, as the Y does every day.
Year-End Giving (RMD / QCD)
Have to take your RMD by year end? Want to make a QCD (qualified charitable distribution) to reduce your taxes?
It’s possible when you support the Foothills Area YMCA through your IRA.
A Special Opportunity for Those 70½ Years Old and Older
You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as the Foothills Area YMCA without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value $100,000 or less are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference at the Y. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.
Why Consider This Gift?
- Your gift will be put to use today, allowing you to see the difference your donation is making.
- Beginning in the year you turn 72, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).
- You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
- Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.

Youth Programming
Send a Kid to Camp
The best things in life are made at YMCA summer camp – friendships, memories, skills, confidence, and so much more.
Nationally, the Y has been a leader in providing summer camp for over 130 years. Our Y summer camps continue to give youth an enriching, safe experience with caring staff and volunteers who model positive values that help build kids’ character.
Send a Kid to After School Care
In YMCA After School Care, kids engage in physical, learning and imaginative activities that encourage them to explore who they are and what they can achieve. In addition to supplementing what they have learned in school, they participate in interactive learning models that engage critical thinking skills, are provided 30 minutes each day to work on their homework by trained YMCA staff, have a chance to socialize with each other and form long-lasting friendships that enhance their development, growth and self-confidence.
Sports Sponsorships
YMCA youth sports programs promote healthy kids, families, and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition, the value of participation over winning, sportsmanship and
team building.
Each year we offer youth sports leagues where businesses and fans can support teams with sponsorships. When you sponsor YMCA youth sports, you help the Y keep fees affordable and ensure that families who need a little extra financial assistance to participate can PLAY with the help of a YMCA scholarship.
Aquatics
SDOC Safety and Survival Swimming Program
The goal of this program is to teach students self-rescue skills & basic water safety to help in preventing the risk of drowning. Drowning poses a considerable risk for youth & adults, especially those from underserved populations.
